Search for missing man in BC enters third day, residents asked to check sheds

The Cowichan Search and Rescue (SAR) is continuing efforts to find Nicholas Marion, age 38.

Marion was last seen on June 30, 2024, when he left 11439 Youbou Road in Youbou, Vancouver Island at about 6:30 am.

RCMP said Marion is not familiar with the area, and had been visiting a friend for the long weekend.

Cowichan SAR was activated at 7 pm on Sunday, and has been searching the area every day since. Today marks the third full day of their efforts to locate Marion.

SAR has searched the nearby campground, Pine Point, and surrounding areas. Volunteer civilian searchers are also lending a hand.

This morning, the rescue group asked residents in the area to help out by checking around their properties, including in shed, under tarps, in boats and outbuildings.

Residents were also asked to check security cameras for any sighting of Marion.

He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black jogging pants and black Nike sneakers retro Jordan 11s. He is 6 ft tall, weighs 174 lbs, with brown eyes, black hair and a short beard.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Lake Cowichan RCMP at 250-749-6668.
